Brave Halloween Costume

I’m on a Halloween kick this week so here is another costume idea for those ladies who want some warmer clothing options this year. Brave is a feel good, coming of age, mother/daughter movie and for those ladies out there with Red Hair it’s an easy costume. This idea requires a bit more alteration than the last one I posted, however it’s very easy, just cut the arms on your long-sleeve dress and either pin or sew to a white shirt that you will layer underneath – making sure that you have extra fabric bunching between the sections of blue. Pop on a pair of brown flats, a costume cape, a quiver of arrows, and a red wig for you non-redheads (you can still order them online or find them at your local Halloween shop). And away you go! Brave Halloween Costume

Couples Halloween Costume – Miner and His Golden Treasure

I was stuck on the couch this weekend due to an injury so I whipped up some more Halloween Costume goodness while I had the time. First up is a costume that should be fairly easy for a couple to pull off: A Miner and his Golden Treasure. The nice thing about these costumes is that they borrow from your own wardrobe. Miners you need a good and worn pair of jeans, a white henley shirt and a plaid shirt to layer over it, don’t forget your pan (you are panning for gold after all) and a pipe. Throw on your favorite set of working boots and you are good to go.  Ladies (or gents) all you need is gold. A gold dress, a gold mask, gold lipstick and eye shadow, gold nail polish, gold shoes and any other gold accessories you can think of. If you want to go full out get a golden wig and some gold face-paint to round it off.

Snow White Costume

Hey Folks, It is the season when normal, sane adults dress up in foolish costumes and prance around New York City. I personally love the Village Parade and will be joining the festivities again for the 4th year in the row on October 31st. In the mean time I’m brainstorming some costume ideas. First Up, Snow White. Weather you love the girly original Disney version, the slightly tattered Snow White and The Huntsman/ Kristien Stewart look or tough girl gone outlaw Gennifer Goodwin/Once character Snow White has a lot to offer. I’m a big fan of Once so I whipped together a costume look that can be put together with regular clothing items. Tunic? Check. Brown Leggings? Check. Just add some leather and you are good to go.
