“SOPA” and “PIPA” on Ted Talks

While I don’t normally get political or talk about technology on this blog the SOPA and PIPA act that is up before Congress, if passed, would have a huge effect not only on this blog but on every blog in this country.

I could summarize this amazing explanation by TED Talks speaker Clay Shirky but I won’t do nearly as good a job of it as I should. I will say that the line that struck me the most out of this entire talk was the idea that the SOPA act will make us (the consumers who use the internet to share content) “guilty until proven innocent” when it comes to sharing copyrighted content. So without further ado Clay Shirky:
